Sam Bennett is one of Ireland’s top cyclists and has won stages on all three of cycling’s Grand Tours during a successful career. 

A talented sprinter, the Carrick-on-Suir rider began his professional career in 2011 with An Post-Sean Kelly. He won multiple Ras Tailteann stages in his early career before joining NetApp-Endura (Now Bora-Hansgrohe) in 2014. 

Bennett rose through the ranks before winning two stages of the 2018 Giro d’Italia in a breakthrough year, he went on to earn two more stages at the 2019 Vuelta a Espana. 

In 2020, after signing with Deceuninck Quickstep Bennett won two Tour de France stages and won the green jersey in a momentous year. He followed that up with another win at the Vuelta a Espana. 

After an injury-plagued 2021 season, he returned to Bora Hansgrohe in 2022 and was back in the wins with two stages once again at the Vuelta a Espana.
