Course Description:
First ever XC at Bree and we’re delighted to welcome the NPS Series. The race will start on the fire road climb, staying left at the well-known quarry drop before turning right into the “badger” area of Bree forest. A looping off-camber climb here will bring riders across an enduro trail back onto the fire road for a short section before climbing to the open area at the top of the hill. From here, the first bit of descending begins, down the start ramp followed by a sharp left onto the Kilmore trail. This is mainly flow until it crosses an old fire road onto a more undulating short section. After this, the riders will ride up the Beeches trail. This is a challenging climb with some tech features and real punchy sections. The riders will, climb almost to the top of the hill once more before making a left to join a fast, classic Bree descent, with a few rock gardens, swooping corners and steep sections – all rollable. The loop re-joins the fire road above the car park and off we go for another lap! Total distance is just over 4kms with 180 metres of ascent.
