Cross-country National Series Round One Results


Greta Lawless celebrates her win in the senior 1 women's race


The 2024 Cross-country National Series (National Points Series) kicked off as round one brought riders to Ballinastoe, Co. Wicklow on Sunday, May 5th. 


Hosted by Biking.ie, the opening round of the series saw sunny weather and an enjoyable day for riders and spectators alike. 


In the senior 1 open race, Dean Harvey was head and shoulders above the rest as he finished ahead of Tadhg Killeen and JB Murphy while junior rider Greta Lawless was dominant in the senior 1 women's race as Caoimhe May and Ciara MacManus completed the podium.


In the other senior categories, Conor Verbruggen (senior 2 open), Fiona Lally (Senior 2 women), Colm Bradley (Senior 3 open), Conor Campbell (senior 4 open) and Sinead Greenan (senior 3 women) were victorious as Ben O'Keefe took victory in the open junior race. 


In the youth categories, there was competitive racing across a variety of categories from U8 to U16 ages. Ryan Daly (U16), Ava Baker (U14), Oscar Moran (U14), Aoife Moran (U12) and Lewis Bell (U10) were among the standout performers.
