Part-time Coaching Administrator


This is a part-time role, 20 hours per week, over 5 days. The role is based in Cycling Ireland (CI) offices at the Sport Ireland Campus, Dublin 15. This role is designed to carry out administration functions of the coach education pathway and programmes support. 


Reporting Structure

The Coaching Administrator will report to the Cycle Right and Programmes Manager. The successful candidate will be required to collaborate closely with staff, volunteers, and other stakeholders in delivering CI’s coaching and education programmes.


Key Responsibilities

• Attending enquiries via email and phone in a professional, efficient and time sensitive manner

• Provide administrative support and guidance to existing coaches and other stakeholders who participate in CI coach education and programmes.

• Plan and coordinate education courses and programmes.

• Ensure accurate record keeping via the ongoing maintenance and development of the candidate management system (CMS) 

• Maintain Coach Developer, CI Coach and Activation Officer database.

• Maintain the library of resource materials for all education programmes, updating, as necessary.

• Participate in the design, organisation, and implementation of CI education projects, events, and programmes.

• Maintain relevant sections on the CI website, ensuring all course advertising/material is accurate and up to date.

• Attend CI education courses and events as required.


General Responsibilities

• Function as an ambassador for Cycling Ireland and represent the organisation professionally.

• Manage own workload and report on outputs.

• Work closely with other CI staff to ensure alignment of objectives and activity with other CI departments.

• Undertake personal CPD, both formal and informal, to maintain and develop professional skills and knowledge.

• Develop and enhance transfer of “best practice” through effective communication channels, both internally and externally.

• Have a presence in the wider sporting community to bring the best practice and innovations back tobenefit the events unit.


Essential Requirements

• Be eligible and willing to work in Ireland on a full-time basis.

• Excellent command of English language both spoken and written.

• Full unrestricted drivers’ license and clean driving record.


Essential Skills and Experience

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and collaborate with 

diverse stakeholders

• Strong administrative, organisational and time management skills, with the ability to multitask effectively.

• Proven proactive approach to problem-solving.

• Appropriate IT skills, particularly MS Office 

• Detail oriented individual, experience in event management desirable.

• Strong work ethic and ability to work in a dynamic environment.

• Flexible and adaptable attitude, team player and ability to work on own initiative.

• Full driving license and own vehicle 

• Flexibility for occasional weekend work

• A can-do attitude and ability to manage numerous projects at once.

• Creative thinker with strong administrative skills and attention to detail.

• Flexible and adaptable attitude with a proven ability to work under pressure.

• Well-developed conflict resolution and problem-solving skills.

Remuneration and Location

• Salary Range: Benchmarked against the market and commensurate with experience.

• Hours per week: 20 hours per week (Monday to Friday). Weekend and evening work may be required. This position will require, at times, irregular, and unsocial hours.
