Events Coordinator
Role
Cycling Ireland is seeking an experienced and dynamic Event Coordinator to oversee the delivery of a range of national and international cycling events. The successful candidate will have proven experience in event management and will oversee the delivery of event specific aspects of CI’s 2025-2029 Strategic Plan.
Key Responsibilities
• Develop an annual calendar of competitive and leisure events to cater for participation across a variety of disciplines and categories.
• Plan, organise and execute a range of cycling events including National Championships and National Series across all disciplines. Provide support to clubs and promotions groups and assist with the delivery of quality events.
• Oversee the process for bidding and hosting of major events including National Championships and National Series across all disciplines.
• Lead the planning and execution of major events to provide best experience for all stakeholders internal and external
• Develop and enhance the functionality of the event registration and management system.
• Work to continually enhance the safety and quality of events through training of event promoters and safety officers, development of hosting guides and assessment of traffic management and safety plans.
• Oversee volunteer recruitment and management, ensuring that events have sufficient numbers of trained and motivated volunteers. Expand the Accredited Marshall Scheme.
• Streamline and enhance the event application and permitting process from date approval through to submission and approval of risk assessments.
• Undertake additional administrative tasks related to the role including championship jersey and medal logistics, event branding, awards, event coordination, indemnity certs, general event queries and system updates.
• Manage the Cycling Ireland Chip Timing System – including staffing and event support.
• Manage the development of Cycling Ireland Road Review ensuring role out to events and grading of riders
General Responsibilities
• Act as an ambassador for CI and represent the organisation professionally.
• Work closely with other CI staff to ensure alignment of objectives and activity with other CI departments.
• Have a presence in the wider sporting community to bring best practice and innovations back to benefit the events unit.
• Provide recommendations to further the development and promotion of cycling events and disciplines.
Essential Skills and Experience
• Relevant third level qualification in event management, sports management or related areas; or equivalent significant workplace experience.
• Proven experience in event management, preferably experience of successfully delivering mass participation events.
• A strong understanding of event planning, logistics and budgeting.
• Excellent organisations skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Experience with event registration software and data management
• Experience in managing a small staff and/or volunteer team.
• Be eligible and willing to work in Ireland on a full-time basis.
• Full unrestricted drivers’ licence
• Knowledge of the sport of cycling across various disciplines is essential.
Personal Qualities
• Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with stakeholders and partners, including volunteers.
• Well-developed conflict resolution and problem-solving skills.
• Team player and ability to work on own initiative as well as in a small, dedicated staff team.
Remuneration and Location
• Package: The package will be commensurate with qualifications and experience, reflective of the not for profit/sports sector.
• Hours per week: (Full-time) – 39 hours. This position will require flexibility to work outside normal business hours, including weekends and evenings.

Accounts Payable Assistant - Six Month Full Time Contract, October 2025 - March 2026
Role
Supporting the Finance department, Chief Executive Officer, and management team by competing all accounts payable routines. The Accounts Payable Assistant will provide a valued service to the Cycling Ireland Team by executing the accounts payable function in an efficient manner.
Responsibilities will include:
Specific Duties
• Maintaining accounts payable nominal ledger accounts/Supplier setup
• Preparing accruals and prepayments.
• Processing business expenses.
• Completing financial reports on a regular basis and providing information to the management team.
• Administering creditors ledger.
• End to end accounts payable and processing.
• Purchase orders procedures.
• Payment run procedures.
• Invoice queries/ creditor reconciliations
• Credit card reconciliations
• Bank account reconciliations
Knowledge & Experience
• Experience in a similar role.
• Strong IT skills, in particular using a finance system such as SAGE, AccountsIQ, etc
• High level of interpersonal skills and the ability to be innovative and generate new ideas.
• High standard of attention to detail with ability to produce and access information efficiently and accurately.
• Excellent communication, literacy and interpersonal skills.
• An ability to use own initiative and, work as part of a team including across the organisation
• Ability to take a lead on projects or initiatives
• Be eligible to work in Ireland on a full-time basis
• Excellent written and verbal communication skill

Education and Programmes Officer
Cycling Ireland is recruiting an Educating and Coaching Officer to support the Coach Education Manager with day-to-day administration to ensure the best-in-class standards across the organisation. Cycling Ireland (CI) is the National Governing Body for cycling across the island of Ireland. Cycling is recognised as a priority sport within the National Sports Policy and is one of Ireland’s most popular sporting activities. Cycling Ireland has a membership of 26,000 people, sanctions an estimated 1000 events and manages over 200,000 event entries annually.
Administration functions of the coach education pathway and programme delivery to include:
• Deal with enquiries via email and phone in a professional, efficient and time sensitive manner.
• Plan and coordinate education courses and programmes
• Lead the ongoing maintenance and development of the candidate management system (CMS).
• Provide administrative and technical support to stakeholders who utilise the online CI online services for coaching and programmes
• Maintain Coach Developer, CI Coach and Activation Officer database
• Maintain the library of resource materials for all education programmes, updating as necessary.
• Evaluate and develop education programmes to complement existing programmes
• Collate and analyse evaluation data as required
• Maintain and develop existing relationships with Local Sports Partnerships, local authorities, community agencies, and other stakeholders as required
• Maintain relevant sections on the CI website, ensuring all course advertising/material is accurate and up to date.

High Performance Pathway Lead
The HP Pathway Lead is responsible for managing Cycling Ireland’s High Performance (HP) Pathway programme for able bodied riders aspiring to become elite level competitors. The programme cultivates our talent development environment for final year youth riders’ transition into the Junior age group, the Junior age group itself, and their transition into the U23, Senior or elite ranks as appropriate. It aims to provide support and learning in ‘off the bike’ environments, as well as coaching and racing opportunities for identified riders on National programmes so they may develop a range of abilities to help them fulfil their potential.
