The Cross-country National Series continues this weekend as riders take on a challenging course around Tonygarrow, Co. Wicklow, on Sunday, June 18th.

Hosted by Team WORC, the fourth and penultimate round of the series will prove decisive as riders bid to score vital points in the overall points standings.

And taking on a unique course around pine woodland in Co. Wicklow, riders know they’ll need strong legs and technical skill to be first to the finish on Sunday.

Here’s everything you need to know ahead of round two.

Round Three Recap

Dean Harvey and Caoimhe May topped the bill after a great day of racing at the third round of the Cross-country National Series on Sunday, June 4th.

Riders descended on a sun-soaked Fossa, Killarney, for the latest installment of the series, hosted by Killarney Cycling Club, as a host of races provided an exciting day of action.

It was Harvey who turned up the heat in the men’s senior 1 race with a dominant victory in his first outing in this year’s series, showing strong form after riding in the Tour of Japan at the end of May.

May earned her second win of the series, after an opening round win, in the women’s senior 1 race ahead of Ciara McManus – who rode extremely well to battle with to finish just 55 seconds behind the victor and well clear of the other riders.

“Team WORC is excited to return to hosting events for Round 4 of the XC Series. The WORC crew have worked tirelessly to carve out a new generation XC loop on private land in Tonygarrow, Co. Wicklow.”
“The venue is unique with native woodland as well as areas of granite boulders and pine forest. The granite allows for some exciting features including rock steps and drop offs which will challenge all levels of riding ability. To facilitate a flowing course the Team WORC team have put in multiple bridges and literally moved boulders, bring your climbing legs and your downhill skills!”
“This is a race not to be missed as the venue can only be accessed by the public on the race weekend, the venue is private and not open to the public. Please respect the landowner and race organisers to ensure the venue will be accessible in the future.”
