UCI Tissot Track Nations Cup Round 1 Preview
Ireland in action in the women's team pursuit at the European Championships on February 9th
The Ireland National Team are back in action on the track this week as the 2023 UCI Tissot Track Nations Cup kicks off in Jakarta, Indonesia.
Five riders will represent Ireland in the first round of the competition, which takes place from February 23rd to 26th at the Jakarta International Velodrome.
After setting a national record at the European Championships on February 9th, Mia Griffin, Lara Gillespie, Alice Sharpe and Kelly Murphy can keep up the momentum in the women’s team pursuit.
Elsewhere, Griffin has a busy schedule as she competes in the women’s omnium and elimination race. Sharpe and Gillespie will team up in the women’s madison.
Orla Walsh is also in action as she competes in both the women’s sprint and keirin events.
Action gets underway for Ireland on Thursday, February 23rd, with women’s team pursuit qualifying before action begins outright on Friday with the women’s team pursuit first round and finals as well as the women’s elimination.
