Cycling Ireland has confirmed the squad of 3 riders who will represent Ireland at the UEC Junior – U23 Track European Championships in Fiorenzuola D’Arda from 8th – 13th October.

The 2020 UEC Junior-U23 Track European Championships commence today in Fiorenzuola D’Arda, Italy.

In light of the current Covid-19 pandemic, Cycling Ireland consulted with Sport Ireland late last week, who recommended and endorsed only carded athletes should travel to the event.

The following riders have accepted a quota place to represent Ireland:

-       Lara Gillespie

-       Mia Griffin

-       Jack Bernard (JB) Murphy

This is a great opportunity for these young riders to further develop and gain valuable experience at international level.

The team will compete across multiple events over the course of the week including the Individual Pursuit, Omnium, Madison, Points, Scratch, and Elimination races.

Live results can be followed for each event here, and the official results will be later published on the UEC website here. The full race schedule for the competition can be found here.

We would like to wish Lara, Mia, and JB the best of luck in their respective events.
