Spectra Racing to Ride Cross Clonmel




Team Spectra Wiggle P/B Vitus confirms a strong team for Cross Clonmel in October which includes Irish rider Chris McGlinchey. The UCI ranked event will take place on October 17th in Clonmel, Co. Tipperary hosted by Clonmel Cycling Club. 


Team principle, Bruce Dalton said the team is looking forward to getting their season underway in Clonmel. 

"Team Spectra Wiggle P/B Vitus is really excited to kick off the international UCI CX season at the new and exciting Verge international Cyclo Cross in Clonmel Co. Tipperary, Ireland, we're a new team with long-term backing and with the growth of domestic Cyclo Cross in Ireland we're proud to support. The team fields a strong line-up of winning riders, with Amira Mellor (former winner of Poprad CX in Slovakia) and Dan Barnes GB U23 world champs rider. Xan Crees makes her first trip over alongside Bruce Dalton, Chris McGlinchey and Beth Crumption. The course sounds awesome and with the legendary Irish hospitality it'll be a weekend to remember. Our Irish rider Chris McGlinchey has set this race as one of his season’s main targets.”


Race organiser John Dempsey expressed his delight that a UCI cyclo cross team of the calibre of Team Spectra Wiggle P/B Vitus had chosen to start their 2022 European season at Cross Clonmel.

“It’s a massive boost to the race to have a professional team of this standing making the trip to Co. Tipperary, it will certainly lay down the challenge to the Irish riders, in my eyes in Dan Barnes and Amira Mellor Team Spectra have the favourites for the men’s and women’s races. I would like to also thanks Keith Colville and Ryan Motor Power the Skoda dealership in Clonmel for their assistance in helping with the logistics of getting this UK based team over to Clonmel for Cross Clonmel”.
