Road Safety - A Reminder To Road Users On Safety And Cycling

Cycling Ireland would like to remind all road users of the importance of safety when cycling or using the road with cyclists.

As we head into the festive period and the new year, we encourage all road users to be aware of cycling safety. The Road Safety Authority and NI Direct offer a valuable resource for all road users to avail of around cycling safety.

Cycling Ireland promotes cycling as a healthy pastime and as a great mode of transport for school, college or work, and all road users should exercise appropriate road safety.

Over 1,600 cyclists have suffered serious injuries on Irish roads over the last seven years, we acknowledge all those who have been affected by these incidents.

Speaking on the Irish Times' 'In The News' Podcast, cyclist Sean Landers shared his story on the importance of cycling safety for all road users after the tragic passing of his partner Gabriele Glodenyte following a collision with a vehicle earlier this year.
