Public Information

22nd, 24th & 25th June - Dungannon, Tyrone

Island Wheelers are delighted to host the Cycling Ireland Road National Championships for 2023. This is the most prestigious race on the Irish Road Cycling calendar and attracts the best Irish racing cyclists from both the domestic and international racing scene.

As the promoting Club, it is our role to ensure that we host a safe and enjoyable race for the cyclists but also that our event has minimal impact on the local residents and business alike. We have designed a sporting course that we believe has a limited impact on the general public, however with all events of this magnitude some inconveniences are to be expected.

We ask that where possible, you avoid the area of our “Racing Circuit” - images below. Where this is not possible, we will have Accredited Marshals on course who will on occasions have to stop traffic for a short period of time and we hope that you can respect that this is for the safety of both the cyclists AND road users.

Road Closure

For Saturday 24th & 25th June, there is a Road Closure in place along the Woodlough Road from Old Ballygawley Road to Reaskmore Road (Dungannon bound traffic ONLY). If possible, we recommend you use the on-slip at Cabragh to access the A4 Dual Carriageway. Traffic leaving the A4 and heading in the direction of Ballygawley will not be affected by the road closure.

Marshals and Signage

Race signage, Moto Marshals and Static Accredited Marshals will be in place and our event is being supported by PSNI.

Thank you all for your cooperation and more importantly we would like to invite anyone in the area to come along and support the races. The Finish Line is on Woodlough Road and will be clearly signed on the day/s of our race - Island Wheelers CC
