Level 1 Discipline Combined Coaching Course
Cycling Ireland are pleased to announce the conclusion of the Level 1 Discipline Combined Coaching Course Pilot in March.
Led by Dr. Vinny Webb and co-tutored by Gary McKeegan and Ian Bailey, the course concluded at the GAP on March 5th.
The course began online with broad coaching content covering the designing effective learning environments, coach to athlete relationships, understanding self and others, technical and tactical development before the discipline-specific face to face weekend focusing on Off-Road cycling.
The course will give the opportunity for coaches to gain the award in the disciplines of Off-Road, Road and Time Trial, BMX and Track.
The pilot course is in the process of being reviewed and is mapped to the Coach Development Programme for Ireland (CDPI).
Sport Ireland Coaching documents have been completed to ensure successful accreditation on the QQI qualifications framework the rollout before roll out of the new Level 1 course.
