Leisure Event Licence Fee For Under 18's Reduced

Cycling Ireland is delighted to confirm that the Leisure Event Licence Fee (previously known as One Day Licence) for Under 18’s has been reduced to €5.

The reduction has been made to allow for cycling to be more accessible for Under 18’s and to promote family-friendly participation in the sport.

The change is effective immediately and has been made ahead of the 2024 season.

The Leisure Event License allows non-Cycling Ireland members to participate in events with full insurance coverage. A Cycling Ireland Youth or Junior License allows members to participate in events with full insurance coverage as well as a range of exclusive benefits and discounts.

Cycling Ireland Chief Executive Officer, James Quilligan, said:

“Cycling Ireland is pleased to be in the position to reduce the Leisure Event License Fee for Under 18’s to €5 ahead of another exciting season in 2024. The change will make the sport of cycling more accessible for junior and youth riders to get involved in the many Cycling Ireland Leisure events around Ireland. Cycling is a family friendly sport, and the change reflects our continued commitment to youth and junior participation at all levels.”
