Garden Shed UK – Ribble – Verge Sport, first international team to confirm participation in Cross Clonmel




The UK based team Garden Shed UK – Ribble – Verge Sport have confirmed that they are sending a strong team of junior riders to Clonmel for UCI racing on the 17th of October. The team was launched in 2019 with the aim of supporting Junior and U23 riders and helping them progress to professional teams, previous riders Katie Scott and Dan Barnes both graduating to UCI teams.


Team principle Debbie Young said they are very excited to be sending 3 junior riders to Cross Clonmel. The aim is to chase as many UCI points as possible early in the season to help all riders qualify for the World Championships later in the season in the USA. Debbie also stated that they were very appreciative of the fact that Verge Sport were the teams clothing sponsor since its inception and were keen to support a race that Verge Sport were so heavily involved in running.


Oli Akers, winner at the Koppenbergcross and Youth National Series will spearhead the team and will be joined in the junior men's race by Nathan Smith who was 9th at Tabor World Cup last year. Former U14 national champion Libby Bell will take part in the women’s junior race
