Cycling Ireland Paracycling Development Squad Criteria 2023


Cycling Ireland have set out the updated criteria for athletes wishing to be a part of the National Paracycling Development Team in 2023. 


The aim of the National Paracycling Development Team is to prepare and support athletes to reach the next level and compete at an elite level at international competitions. 


All interested riders are encouraged to apply, even if you do not meet all of the criteria.

Interested riders must complete this online Expression of Interest.


The key points to note in the updated criteria and rider agreement are:


Eligibility: Applicants must hold a Cycling Ireland License with IRL code

Performance: Applicants must have a proven track record of competition at Domestic or international competitions.

Potential: Applicants must demonstrate the potential to reach the elite level of Paracycling and the commitment to training and competing at the highest level.

Rider agreement: Successful applicants will be required to sign a rider agreement with the national Paracycling development team in Ireland.


Chairperson of the Cycling Ireland Paracycling Commission, Eamonn Byrne said: 

"We are excited about the upcoming season and have several races planned. We would like to get the views of riders on which races they would like to participate in and plans they have at home and abroad for this season.
