BMX National Series Round One Results
The BMX National Series returned last weekend as Cork BMX Club hosted an enjoyable opening round on Sunday, April 7th.
Despite Storm Kathleen disrupting preparations and practice sessions on Saturday, racing got underway on Sunday afternoon following hard work from club officials to ensure the track was in the best possible condition.
And riders and spectators were treated to a thoroughly enjoyable afternoon as over 120 riders competed across age categories ranging from 6-8 years old to Masters and 30+ years old.
In the open categories, there were big wins for Judy Byrne (Under 6 Mixed), Erin Choi (7-8), Tommy Martin-Portis (9-10), Tommy Caldwell (11-12), David Oprey-Mejia, Jamie Dumigan (15-29) and Colin Ross (Masters 30+) while Danny O'Gorman was victorious in the Superclass category.

In the women and girls categories, Lilly Walker (7-10), Samia Hughes (11-14) and Jamie Owens (15-29) were victorious while Anna Szmyt Zajonz was the winner in the Women's 30+ category.
The BMX National Series continues on April 28th as the best riders in Ireland converge on Courtown BMX Club.
