2024 UCI Para Cycling Track World Championships Expression of Interest

Expressions of interest have opened for the 2024 UCI Para Cycling Track World Championships to be held in Rio, Brazil on 20th-24th March.

The event marks the final run in for qualification for the Paris Paralympic Games for the team and is followed by Road World Cups in Europe during the Spring which conclude the qualification for Paris.

The team last visited Rio for the 2018 Para Cycling World Championships and included current squad members Eve McCrystal, Katie George Dunlevy, Ronan Grimes and Martin Gordon among them. Eve and Katie George returned home with a bronze medal on that occasion.

National Para Cycling Coach Jamie Blanchfield said:

“We’re looking forward to starting 2024 in Rio at the Track World Championships. It’s a big event to kick off a big year for the Para squad. We are aiming to field a very competitive team and score good ranking points towards Paris qualification.”
