2024 Cyclo-cross World Championships Preview

A team of three Irish riders will compete in the 2024 Cyclo-cross World Championships in Tábor, Czech Republic, this weekend, February 2nd to 4th.

The riders will compete in the Junior Women, Junior Men and U23 Men races in a busy weekend as the Cyclo-cross season draws to a close.

Ireland’s best young Cyclo-cross riders have enjoyed a successful season both at home and abroad, and after competing at the European Championships late last year, Dean Harvey, Greta Lawless and Conor Murphy will compete on the world stage.

Elite National Champion Dean Harvey will be hoping for a strong performance in the U23 Men’s race with 64 starters scheduled to take the line on Saturday.

The selection comes after another dominant display at the Cyclo-cross National Championships underlined his encouraging results in the Cyclo-cross World Cup Dublin in November and a festive block of racing Belgium.

Greta Lawless will represent Ireland in the Junior Women’s race to kick off the Championships earlier on Saturday after a strong domestic season.

Conor Murphy can also cap off a strong winter in the Junior Men’s race on Sunday that included racing in Belgium and the UCI Cyclo-cross World Cup Dublin.
