2023 Leisure National Series Launch
Cycling Ireland are excited to launch the 2023 Leisure National Series with five showpiece events taking place around the country.
Leisure cyclists account for a major part of the Cycling Ireland membership and event calendar with a host of leisure events open to people of all ages and levels.
The 2023 National Series includes an event in all four provinces before concluding with the Great Dublin Bike Ride.
Kicking off on May 7th with the Ring of Cilcuigh in Co. Cavan, Cycling Ireland encourage our leisure members to get involved in the National Series.
The series continues the following week with the Tour De Lough Derg in Co. Tipperary. The event returned in 2022 and will bring participants along the tranquil roads of Lough Derg on the River Shannon.
Another lakeside sportive is on the cards as the National Series comes to Leinster and Co. Westmeath for the Tour of the Lakes on June 11th.
And then the focus switches to Co. Mayo and Connacht on August 13th for the Cunga Ram, taking in the breathtaking views of Connemara.
The National Series concludes with on of the flagship events of the Cycling Ireland calendar in the Great Dublin Bike Ride on September 17th.
Cycling Ireland Leisure Commission Chairperson John Maloney said:

Supporting leisure cycling and the leisure membership is our primary goal and the series is all about the joy of cycling and showing that it’s not always about crossing the finish line first but about getting over it, together.”

The 2023 Leisure National Series aim is to support leisure cycling event organisers in the four provinces, to assist the host clubs and its members across the Island of Ireland. Bringing people together for such events will help build a greater cycling community.”
