2023 Leisure National Series Kicks Off With Ring Of Cuilcagh

The 2023 Cycling Ireland Leisure National Series kicked off with the Ring of Ciulcagh on Sunday, May 7th. 


Set around the now iconic Cuilcagh mountains and taking in Cavan, Fermanagh and Leitrim, the event proved a great occasion for participants of all ages and ability levels. 


All proceeds from the fantastic event went to The Irish Motor Neurone Disease Association as participants took on the challenge of 55km, 90km and 120km options. 


Hosting club Smugglers Cycling Club said:  

“We want to thank each and every cyclist that participated in ‘Ring of Cuilcagh 2023’ in aid of Irish Motor Neurone Disease Association.”

The series continues on Sunday, May 14th, with the Tour De Lough Derg in Co. Tipperary. The event returned in 2022 and will bring participants along the tranquil roads of Lough Derg on the River Shannon.

Ring of Ciulcagh also formed part of the Ulster Lesiure Series as provincial Leisure events take place across the summer. 


The Connacht Leisure Series kicked off on Sunday, May 7th, with the Tuam CC Sportif as the event saw entries increase by 100 percent on 2022 figures.

The Ulster Leisure Series continues with the Bangor Coastal Challenge on June 18th, the Connacht Leisure Series continues on June 3rd with the Ballisodare Bay CC Charity Cycle while the Better Life Cycle kicks off the Munster Leisure Series on June 3rd.
