2023-24 Sport Northern Ireland Athlete Award Programme

Applications are now open for the 2023-24 Sport Northern Ireland Athlete Award Programme.

The programme aims to enable athletes to train in order to maximise their potential and will contribute to the essential personal living costs of the athlete.

The funding available has increased for the 2023-24 to meet an increase in the cost of living, with applications to be made through athletes’ national governing bodies.

Those applying will be required to demonstrate that their circumstances have changed or need to change significantly to allow them to adequately prepare for competition or the national high-performance programme.

In 2022, nine cyclists from Northern Ireland shared over £25,000 in funding to help meet training and competition costs.

Riders can find further information on the guidelines, eligibility, and funding here.

Applications will be made by Cycling Ireland before the Sport NI deadline for submissions on March 10th.

Those who wish to be considered must send a completed application form (please only complete the ‘athlete details’ section) to HPAdmin@cyclingireland.ie by midday on Monday, March 4th.

You can download the application form here.
