Advocates for Women's Cycling

As part of Cycling Ireland’s Women in Sport Campaign, which is funded by Sport Ireland, we are delighted to announce the names of our 2022 Advocates. Our Women in Sport Advocates are incredibly inspirational women who promote cycling in their local club and community, who have already inspired, and will continue to inspire others by sharing their story.

We had 55 females apply this year which shows the appetite that is out there to increase the visibility of women and girls in Cycling and we’d like to thank everyone for taking the time to apply and share their stories with us.

This year, we are delighted to have U18’s as advocates for the first time ever! In total, we have selected 5 girls and 5 women for 2022. These 10 incredible females will join the 11 other advocates from previous years and their profiles can be viewed here.

Congratulations to the following females who have been selected as our advocates for 2022. We will share each of their stories in due course.

We are looking forward to seeing all our advocates get stuck into helping to increasing the visibility of females in our wonderful sport and we hope you, the cycling community will get behind and support them once again.

We’d like to take this opportunity to thank Catherine McEvoy from Apollo Cycling Team who was one of our original advocates. Catherine made the decision to step away from being one of our advocates in the last few months and we’d like to thank Catherine for the great work she did whilst being an advocate.
