Balance Bike Coach

The Balance Bike Course is aimed at coaches who want to develop their existing knowledge and skills. The knowledge gained from this course will allow coaches to plan and deliver a series of safe and effective Balance Bike Sessions that focuses on the fundamental balance bike skills striding, scooting, gliding.



Duration and Format: 


This is a one-day course with a mix of classroom and practical experience. 



Course Cost: 

€60 or £50 Cycling Ireland Members / €80 or £70 Non Cycling Ireland Members

To attend the Balance Bike Coaching Course candidates must be over 18 years of age. 


The course is open to anyone and while some cycling or coaching experience is helpful it is not essential.

The course will provide candidates with the necessary skills and knowledge to effectively coach and develop the fundamental balance bike skills (striding, scooting, gliding).


The course will explore the roles and responsibilities the Balance Bike Coach will assume and prepare candidates as Balance Bike coaches to provide safe and enjoyable Balance Bike sessions.


On successful completion of Balance Bike Coaching Course candidates will be sufficiently skilled to deliver a series of safe and effective Balance Bike Sessions and a certificate of completion.

Cycling Skills Coach

The Cycling Skills Coaching Course is aimed at coaches who want to develop their existing knowledge and skills. The knowledge gained from this course will allow coaches to plan and deliver a series of safe and effective Cycling Skills Sessions focusing on the fundamental cycling skills - balancing, braking, cornering, and pedalling.

This is a one-day course with a mix of classroom and practical experience.

The course will explore the roles and responsibilities the Cycling Skills Coach will assume and prepare candidates as Cycling Skills coaches to provide safe and enjoyable Cycling Skills sessions.




On successful completion of Cycling Skills Coaching Course candidates will be sufficiently skilled to deliver a series of safe and effective Cycling Skills Programme.
