A team of 16 riders will represent Ireland at the Road World Championships in Flanders, Belgium from 19-26 September.

Cycling Ireland has today Monday 13th September issued the final calculated times and results for the National Youth Time Trial Championships held on the 21st August by Gorey Cycling Club.

Makayla MacPherson sprinted home on The Parade in front of Kilkenny Castle to win the stage five city circuit race in Kilkenny this evening.

A gruelling 179.2 kilometre race faced the riders which included a testing 73 kilometre loop in the Valle dei Laghi which led the riders back to Piazza Duomo in Trento for a final 8 laps of the 13.2 kilometre circuit.

Kaia Schmid took her second, and her team’s third win of Rás na mBan 2021 as she sprinted home on The Parade in front of Kilkenny Castle to win the sixth and final stage in Kilkenny today. Best of the Irish overall was Alice Sharpe of Team Ireland, fourth at 57s from Shackley, with her team mate Kelly Murphy fifth at 1m31s and Natalie Grinczer (CAMS Basso) sixth, 1m49s behind the winner while the Irish National team scooped the overall team prize.

Race leader Abi Smith shrugged off the frustration of two consecutive second place finishes to take victory at the third time of asking at the summit finish on The Cut in County Laois today.

Just under 150 riders in the U23 Men’s category rolled out of Piazza Duomo in Trento this morning to start their 10 laps of the testing 13.2 kilometre circuit. A circuit that proved challenging for riders yesterday, similarly tested the U23 Men and Elite Women today.

Anna Shackley won Team GB’s second stage of Ras na mBan 2021 as she won the stage four time trial in Tullaroan, Co. Kilkenny this morning.

Entries are now open for the 2021 Cycling Ireland Road National Championships which will take place on Saturday, October 2nd and Sunday, October 3rd in Co. Wicklow promoted by Leinster Promotions Group.

The 2021 National Criterium Championships took place on Thursday August 19th in Co Limerick. This year’s Championships was hosted by Greenmount Cycling Academy and was held at Limerick Racecourse.

The 2021 Cycling Ireland Time Trial National Championships will take place on Thursday, 30th September in Wicklow.

A team of five riders have been selected for the upcoming Rás na mBan which will take place from 8th -12th September.

The 2021 Youth Road National Championships took place in Gorey, Co. Wexford on 21st – 22nd August hosted by Gorey CC.

A challenging new mountain stage finish and an all-new opening stage with a circuit finish in Callan, County Kilkenny are the highlights of the 2021 Rás na mBan route announcement made today.
