Youth National Championships 2022

Orchard Cycling Club played host to a fantastic weekend of racing in Hamiltonsbawn & Markethill, Co. Armagh for the Youth National Championships.

Ireland's young budding cyclists travelled near and far to compete across three events over the weekend around the roads of Co. Armagh.

Proceedings got underway Saturday morning with a Time Trial, 3.7 kilometres for the u11 and u12 boys and girls while the u13's up to u16 boys and girls raced over 6.3 kilometres.

A few short hours later, as Ireland's top senior and junior riders competed in the final round of the Road National Series in the neighbouring county, the youths contested the road race around a short circuit for 11-12 year olds and a longer 10 kilometre circuit for the 13-16 year olds.

The weekend finished off with a criterium race on Sunday. Well done to all the boys and girls who competed over the weekend.
