Women's Sportive Series 2026
Cycling Ireland is pleased to announce the 2026 Women’s Sportive Series. The series will include five around Ireland, with at least one in each province.
The series will begin during Bike Week 2026, which runs from the 9th to the 17th of May, and will conclude in September.
Each leg will include different distance options so there will be something for everyone. This series is aimed towards cyclists of all levels.
Speaking about the series, Paul Norton, Participation Manager with Cycling Ireland said:
“We are looking forward to launching the inaugural Women's Sportive Series for 2026. After discussions with the Women's Commission, we have been working with five clubs to bring together a number of events that are being organised specifically for women and girls.
“As an organisation we want to grow and develop cycling and facilitate quality experiences through cycling events. We want to attract and encourage more women and girls to cycle and provide a welcoming and friendly environment, both at events and within our clubs.
“The series will comprise of five events - three existing events and two new events, created specifically for this series. We would really like to thank Galway Bay CC, Tuam CC, Innisfree Wheelers, Emyvale CC, Cuchulainn CC and the Cycling Ireland Women's Commission for their work and commitment in putting these events together.”

Round 3
Queen Maeve Women's Cycle
Date: 18th July
Host Club: Innisfree Wheelers
Round 4
Sarah Fagan Women's Lap of Louth
Date: 16th August
Host Club: Cuchulainn CC
Round 5
Details to be confirmed, location will be Clare and on the weekend of the 12th and 13th of September.

Speaking ahead of the event the Chairperson of Galway Bay CC, Oonagh McArdle said: “We’re absolutely delighted to welcome riders from across the country to Galway for the opening round of Cycling Ireland’s Women’s Sportif Series. This event is a joint effort by Galway Bay and Tuam Cycling Clubs and a reflection of our commitment to supporting women’s cycling at every level. We plan to provide a well-organised, supportive, friendly day on the bike.”
