Winter eSports Series Round 1 Results


The 2024 / 25 Cycling Ireland eSports Winter Series got underway on Friday, November 1st.

 

The first of 10 rounds saw riders take in the 33km City to Coast route in Makuri, with 60 competitors in three categories taking on the punchy course.

 

20 seconds separated the top two in the Category A, with Conor McCarthy from St. Tiernan’s Cycling Club taking the win. Streamstown Cycling Club’s Colin Clavin edged out third place James Latimer from hosts Racing Without Borders by just two seconds.

 

Team WORC rider Paul Caldwell took the win the Category B, ahead of Ross Byrne of Laois CC and Daire McNab, with just three seconds separating the top three.

 

Another tight finish in Category C, with only four seconds between all three podium riders. Shane Courtney from Tralee Manor West BC took the top spot ahead of Bohermeen Cycling Club’s Gerard Coffey and Martin Murphy from Youghal Cycling Club in second and third respectively.

Round 2 will take in the Triple Flat Loops route in Watopia. Riders will take on the 36km course at 19.05 again this Friday evening. Entries are still open, with entries and a full series breakdown also available here.
