Ireland are back in track action after a record-breaking opening round to the UCI Tissot Track Nations Cup in Jakarta last month.

The national team are in Cairo, Egypt, for the second round and will hope to continue their momentum just weeks after the women’s team pursuit twice broke the national record.

The event gets underway on Tuesday, March 14th, and will run until Friday, March 17th.

The quartet of Mia Griffin, Lara Gillespie, Alice Sharpe and Kelly Murphy are back together as they seek to follow up their strong performances last month.

There are three changes to the team that travelled to Jakarta, with Orla Walsh not set to feature and Erin Creighton and JB Murphy selected to compete.

Creighton earns her second call-up at senior level following her appearance in the UEC European Championships last month, she races in the women’s elimination race.

Murphy returns after also featuring at the UEC European Championships last month, he’ll ride in the men’s omnium and men’s elimination races.
