Discontinuation of Plastic Licence Cards
We are excited to share an important update about our licence cards. Going forward, we will no longer be offering physical plastic licence cards. This change is part of our commitment to a more sustainable future, and to align with other Federations around the world who are adopting this model and accepting digital licenses at national and international events.
We know many of our members valued having a physical card for convenience, and we appreciate your support over the years. This decision was not made lightly. The good news is that your digital licence is now widely accepted and provides the same proof of your licence, right on your smartphone.
Why the Change?
It's Now All You Need: Digital licences are now accepted everywhere a physical card was. This means you have everything you need, conveniently stored on your phone.
Reducing Our Environmental Footprint: By switching to digital-only, we are significantly reducing the amount of plastic produced, which is a big step toward being more environmentally responsible.
Your digital licence is a secure and convenient way to carry your credentials. To access it, simply log in to Cycling Ireland and click ‘Download Licence’ on your membership home page.
