Mid-Season Upgrades 2026
In line with the 2026 Cycling Ireland Technical Regulations relating to upgrades and the ambition to grow C1 and C2 levels by moving better performing riders through the grading system, the mid-season upgrades planed for after the National Championships will take place week commencing 6th July 2026.
This will allow any riders who will be upgraded to C1, one final option of a stage race on the weekend of the 3rd July – the Newry Three Day.
We are aware that some riders who will upgrade, based on their results so far in 2026, may have been planning to ride this stage race – and to avoid any confusion with riders who were entered then being upgraded before the event and having to have entries returned or be stopped riding the event, the CI team will only complete the
upgrades after this weekend.
Confirmation of who will be upgraded at this point week commencing 6th July 2026.
Any C3 rider with 45 or more points will be upgraded to C2 – with the exception of M60 riders
Any C2 rider with 45 or more points will be upgraded to C1 – with the exception of M50 or M60 riders
