Masters Specific Events in 2026

This weekend sees the return of Masters only events, as the Criterium National Championships take place in Dublin City featuring a stand alone Masters race.

The Masters race at the Criterium National Championships is part of an 11 event calendar of races specifically for Masters riders.

Following the event this Sunday, May 17th, the next on the calendar is the Master’s and Women’s Athenry GP hosted by Galway Bay CC in Co. Galway on the 11th of July. Seven days later, on the 18th of July, Greenmount play host to the Shanahan Family Foods Races in Limerick.

August 16th sees the Bobby Crilly Classic take place in Co. Antrim with Phoenix CC playing host. Masters racing stays in Ulster as a week later, August 23rd, the Emyvale GP takes place in Monaghan, hosted by Emyvale CC.

August 30th features four races across the country with Provincial Championships taking place. While the Munster Champs are set for Co. Cork all other locations are still TBC.

The weekend of September 12th and 13th is Masters National Championship weekend. North Tipperary Wheelers host the Time Trial on Saturday in Tipperary, while Dungarvan CC host the Road Races on Sunday in Waterford.

Cycling Ireland is working closely with organisers to confirm a 12th Masters specific event, which will be announced in due course.

Cycling Ireland Sports and Operations Director Paul Watson welcomed the addition of more Masters focused events; “We are as always grateful to all promoters of Cycling Ireland Events but acknowledge the commitment of these organisers to step forward and promote standalone Masters Racing. As with this increase in events over the 2025 promotions we hope to see the numbers taking part increasing and show promoters the interest in standalone masters racing that will let this service grow year on year.”
