Longcourt Hotel NCW Wheelers Shine at Sundrive 

The 2024 Cycling Ireland Team, Time Trial and Madison National Championships took place at Sundrive Velodrome on Saturday 3rd of August. 

 

The 2024 National Championships continue, on Saturday 3rd of August, the focus was on the Team, Time Trial and Madison National Championships at Sundrive Velodrome. Longcourt Hotel NCW Wheelers riders were dominant throughout the day, picking up four national titles.  

 

Their first victory came in the Women’s Team Sprint. The A team of Autumn Collins, Deirbhle Ivory and Nikki Taggart. Claiming second place was Longcourt Hotel – NCW Wheelers B, featuring recently crowned Road National Series champion Annalise Murphy, alongside Ellen Ni Cleirigh and Helen McParland. Sundrive Track Team of Caoimhe Seymour, Sofie Loscher and Susie Mitchell rounded out the podium. 

 

Spellman-Dublin Port ran out winners in the Team Sprint (Open) category with their team of Alexander Abdul-Wahab, Eric Gasparro and Ryan O’Neill. The outfit from East Tyrone Cycling Club featuring Harvey Barnes, James Glasgow and Philip Glasgow finished second, beating John Caffrey, Keith Meghan and Robert Murphy representing Sundrive Track Team A. 

 

Once again Longcourt Hotel NCW Wheelers filled two spot on the podium in the Women’s Team Pursuit. Victory went to the team of Annalise Murphy, Autumn Collins, Ellen Ni Cleirigh and Jennifer Bates. Sundrive’s team of Caoimhe Seymour, Eimear Moran, Sofie Loscher and Susie Mitchell were second. Deborah Madden, Deirbhle Ivory, Helen McParland and Stephanie Talbot for Longcourt Hotel – NCW Wheelers completed the podium.  

 

The Open Team Pursuit was won by UCD CC’s Conor Murnane, Jason Kenny, Rhys Kenny and Sean Landers. Navan Road Club, represented by Evan Bernie, Fergus Crilly, Sean Crilly and Luke Bernie came in second, just 3 seconds ahead of Sundrive’s John Caffrey, Keith Meghen, Richard Grant and Sean Curtis in third. 

 

The Senior Women’s Time Trial over 500m saw Longcourt Hotel – NCW Wheelers riders Deirbhle Ivory and Annalise Murphy take first and third respectively, with Caoimhe Seymour from Sundrive Track Team slotting in at second place. 

 

A very tight Senior Men’s Kilo Time Trial saw Harvey Barnes from East Tyrone Cycling Club edge out Spellman-Dublin Port’s Alexander Abdul-Wahab by just half a second. Another half second separated Dmitro Griffin from Orwell Wheelers in third. 

 

Adding to their haul, Longcourt Hotel – NCW Wheelers took both first and second place in the Women’s Madison, with Annalise Murphy and Ellen Ni Cleirigh beating Autumn Collins and Jennifer Bates. Sundrive Track Team’s Sofie Loscher and Susie Mitchell finished third.  

 

Giant Store Assen CT NWVG won in the Open Madison with Odhran Doogan and Stefan Caulfield – Dreier. Cian Keogh and Conn McDunphy from Team SKYLINE nabbed second place ahead of UCD’s Rhys Kenny and Sean Landers.
