Key Dates in the Youth Road and Track Calendars
The next four weeks are packed with action for our underage
riders both on the road and on the track. Cycling Ireland, along with a range
of clubs and volunteers remain committed to the development of underage
cycling, with road and track National Championships and National Series taking
center stage. The next four weeks will see four major events take place on the
youth calendar:
- Youth National
Series Round 3 (VC Glendale)
- Ulster 3 Day Youth
International
- Youth Track
National Championships
- Youth Road National
Championships
Youth National Series Round 3
The final round of the Youth National Series takes place at
the Ulster GP Circuit, on the outskirts of Belfast on Saturday 27th July.
Hosted by VC Glendale, the Jimmy Watson and Debbie Barclay Perpetual Cups will
host Round 3 of the National Series.
Races for Under 12, Under 14, Under 16 will play out, with the latter being
part of the National Series - Hugh Og Mulhearne (Verge Sport PI Cycles) and
Ysabella Huele (Orwell Wheelers CC) currently lead the Under 16 boys and girls
series after two rounds of competition.

Ulster 3 Day Youth International
The Ulster 3 Day International Tour is an ideal introduction for young riders to stage racing. Having been hosted by Errigal CC for eight years previously, 2023 saw Foyle CC take the reigns for the first time. Foyle CC again act as hosts this year, as teams and riders from across Ireland, the UK and Europe descend on Co. Donegal.

Youth Track National Championships
The 2024 Track Championships will take place at Sundrive
Velodrome, Co. Dublin on Saturday 10th August. With Boys and Girls
Championships for U12, U14 and U16 across three events: 250m TT, Scratch and
Sprint). Entry for the championship will cover all 3 events. All track queries
should be sent to the Cycling Ireland track commission and event organiser Hugh

Youth Road National Championships
The Youth Road National Championships will take place across Saturday the 17th and Sunday the 18th of August, hosted by Dungarvan CC in Kilmacthomas, Co. Waterford.
The Time Trial and Road Race will both take place on Saturday, with the Criterium on Sunday morning.
National Championship categories for Road will be in 1 year age bands as per the approved Cycling Ireland National Championships:

Foreign Riders (Inc. British Cycling Licence Holders)
All Foreign Riders (holding license from another National Federation) must be registered on the Cycling Ireland database, where they will be assigned an FR Licence Number.
Documents Required
Please complete the above application form and upload the following documents:
- Copy of 2024 National Federation Licence
- Copy of 'Letter of Authority' from home federation to
compete in Ireland
If you have already
been assigned an FR Licence, you will need to re-submit your 2024 documents

National Championships Eligibility Cycling Ireland Technical Regulation
- T10.A1.29 The following riders may compete in a National Championship:
(a) Members of Cycling Ireland with the relevant Competition Licence and an IRL Nationality
(b) Members of a UCI affiliated federation with an IRL
Nationality on their licence. National Championship Entry Deadline Entries for
Track and Road National Championships will open at 9am on Monday 22nd July and
will close 7 days prior to competition, as per Cycling Ireland Technical
Regulations
