Irish National Team Selection Process for Rás Tailteann

The Irish National Team at the 2022 Ras Tailteann

Cycling Ireland will be entering a National Team into the 68th edition of Rás Tailteann, which takes place from 17th - 21st May.

Following on from the success of last year’s National Team in the 5-day stage race, four U23 riders will get an opportunity to showcase their talent under the guidance of a road captain and team DS, Martyn Irvine.

A longlist of riders will be compiled after Rás Mumhan with the final selection being made after the Tour of Ulster on 02/05/23.

All racing to date this year, at home and abroad, will be considered in the selection process with a higher emphasis on performances domestically in stage races, in particular Rás Mumhan and Tour of Ulster while performances by Irish riders based abroad in International Races will also be considered. Riders on the longlist will be contacted to establish their availability before the final selection will be made.
