Increased Masters National Road Championships – Jerseys and Medals 2026
Following requests from the growing number of Masters Riders riding RR and TT across Ireland, as advised, we have carried out a review of the Masters National Championships for 2026 and have increased the number of recognized championships this year, as well as the number of National Masters National Championship Jerseys available for 2026.
M70+ and W50+ Time Trials will now both be Championship categories.
In consultation with the organizer following our request they are also promoting a Non-Championship TT for riders on Road Bikes – who just want to compete for a time.
We would also like to clarify the position on the road races – although some events, as last year will be combined starts they will this year be riding for their own age grouping jersey. Again you can only win an individual medal in the age band you belong to. This year there will be in increase in Masters Jerseys available in the Road Race from 5 to 9 Masters National Champions Jerseys.
CI Staff are working on supplying single use numbers for the Road Races to allow riders to identify who is in each age band – as we do for the Senior Road Race Championships between Elite and Under 23.

We will continue to review this year on year, to ensure the interest shown by numbers starting, meets the threshold to continue to have standalone age band Jerseys and Medals.
