Former Cycling Ireland Vice-President Anthony Mitchell Appointed Commonwealth Games NI Secretary General 



Former Cycling Ireland Vice-President Anthony Mitchell has been appointed as Commonwealth Games Northern Ireland Secretary General. 


Following an Annual General Meeting, a number of changes were made to Commonwealth Games NI’s Board of Directors.  


Mitchell has already served a four-year term on the board and has been appointed to the role of Secretary General. 


He managed the Northern Ireland Cycling team at two previous Senior and one Youth Commonwealth Games.   


Mitchell was previously a member of the Cycling Ireland Board, serving as Secretary and Vice-President. 


Dr Stephen Martin MBE, Olympic Hockey gold medallist, will take on the role of Chairperson of Commonwealth Games NI, other members elected to the Board are Lisa Bradley, Stephen Cuddy, Clare McAuley, Mark Montgomery, Alan Strong and Fionnuala Toner.
