ESports Winter Series Round 9 Results


The penultimate round of the eSports Winter Series headed for a 25km race around the Turf n Surf route in Makuri. 


The first event of 2025 saw Kinning Cycles’ Ian Inglis take the top spot in Category 1 and hold onto his top spot in the Points Standings. Second in the standings and second on the day was host club Racing Without Borders’ James Latimer, with third place on the day going to Westport Covey Wheelers Cycling Club rider Steven Edmundson.


Mark Cannon took the win in Category 2 but remains third overall. Dáire McNab came in second ahead of Bray Wheelers’ Caoilin Considine in third. Laois CC rider Ross Byrne finished fourth but maintains his lead at the top of the standings.


Kilbeheny Cycling Club’s Joe Mullins took the win in Category 3 and remained third in the overall Points Standings. Colm O’Doherty from Park Wheelers took second place, as Shimna Wheelers Gareth Evans took third. Martin Murphy of Youghal Cycling Club remains in top spot ahead of Velo Café Magasin rider Conor Preshaw in second.

Attention now switches to the final event of the series this Friday evening as riders take on the 23.5km Radio Rendezvous and it’s gruelling 736m of climbing.

Alongside the main eSports Winter Series, RWB and the Cycling Ireland Para commission has organised two rounds for para athletes. The next round takes place on the 17th of January, and riders can enter here.
