ESports Winter Series Reaches Half Way Point


This year’s Winter eSports League is in full swing as we head into the second half of the ten-round competition tomorrow.


Lucan’s Ronan Killeen leads the Cat 1 GC at the halfway point, less than a minute and a half ahead of Streamstown rider Colin Clavin in second place while Dungarvan’s Tony Kenneally sits third.


Mark Cannon leads the GC in Cat 2 with an overall time of 2 hours, 39 minutes and 39 seconds. Old Beach CC rider Michael Hegarty sits in second and Thomas Bennett of Upperchurch Drombane in third.


Annagh Wheelers’ John Guilfoyle leads Cat 3, just 33 seconds ahead of Orwell’s John Kehoe. North Down CC’s Alyson Lowry sits in third, six seconds back.


In Cat 4 Martin Milner of Trim CC leads the way ahead of Padraig Kenny in second and Phoenix CC rider Christian Tracey in third.


Cat 5 is led by club mates Brian Ebbs and Richard Hart from Lucan in first and second respectively, while Claire Young from Apollo Cycling Team sits third.


The Points competition for Cat 1 mirrors the GC, with Ronan Killeen leading Colin Clavin and Tony Kenneally.


Mark Cannon also leads the Points race in Cat 2, while Dáire McNab follows in second and Michael Hegarty in third.


John Kehoe leads Cat 3 Points, with Connor Marshall sitting second, followed by Annagh Wheelers’ John Guilfoyle in third.


Trim’s Martin Milner sits atop the Points standings in Cat 4. Padraig Kenny sits second ahead of Audax Ireland rider Arthur Marshall in third.

Lucan pair Ebbs and Hart again sit first and second in the Points standings for Cat 5, while Brendan Dore chases in third.


Tomorrow evening riders will take on the 31km Itza Climb route in Watopia, featuring 293m of elevation.
