Dublin Track International to Return in 2022
Due to the uncertainty surrounding the current pandemic, the issues with foreign travel and the safety of our staff and volunteers the organisers of the 2021 Dublin Track International have no option but to unfortunately cancel this year’s event.
This has not been an easy decision to make but due to the current landscape it is extremely difficult to plan for a safe international event.
We have, as in previous years, received many enquiries from foreign teams based in the UK, Europe, Asia and The Americas. Unfortunately, the continued uncertainty surrounding travel into the country coupled with the requirement for mandatory hotel quarantine when travelling from certain countries has made it impossible to plan for this event.
We also have a duty of care to our team of local support and the community in which we run our event. We are however looking forward to running a great event in 2022.
Alan Neenan, Race Director:
“I’m very disappointed that we’re unable to run the Dublin Track International again this year. As a UCI Class 1 event it enables us to bring together the best riders from Ireland and around the world to compete together in a fantastic weekend of racing. We look forward to welcoming the world back to Ireland in 2022.”
Paul Dixon, Chairperson for the Track Commission
“It isn't a huge surprise but still very frustrating that we are unable to run the Dublin Track International for a second year in a row. This is always a great event supported by many international athletes from across the globe. We can’t wait to see the event back in 2022.”
