Cyclo-cross National Series Round Two Preview

Round Two of the Cyclo-cross National Series is fast approaching as the focus switches from Connacht to Munster and Drombane in Co. Tipperary after the upcoming first round.

The first round of the inaugural series takes place in Westport Co. Mayo and the action continues just a week later as Upperchurch Drombane Cycling play host.

It’s been a busy start to the Cyclo-cross season with flagship event Cross Clonmel taking place last month while provincial leagues are building towards the provincial championships on December 18th.

Event organiser Jerry Ryan said:

“Upperchurch Drombane Cycling Club is one of the founding clubs of the Munster CX League. We host round two of the inaugural CX National Series in Drombane with the help of local landowners and the local GAA club. Riders can expect a fast-flowing circuit with technical sections to challenge the most proficient of riders. With the help of the reliable volunteers in our club and the support of Munster Cycling, we look forward to welcoming you all on November 26th.”

The McCrystal Track in Jenkinstown will host the third round on the 28th of December while the final round will take place in Portadown on the 7th of January.

Points will be allocated on riders’ position in each round, and the National Series will count towards the gridding for the National Championships, along with the results from the provincial cyclocross championships.
