The Cycling Ireland Youth Commission 2022 Annual General Meeting will take place virtually at 7pm on Monday, 24th October 2022.

Composition of Commission 

Up to eleven Officers to be made up as follows


1. Eight Provincial Officers: These positions will be for a one-year term and nominees will not stand for election but will be nominated by the each of the Provincial Executives (2 from each Province who should have a background of working with Youth). Those nominated will be ratified at the AGM. 


2. Three Discipline Specific Officers (Off Road, Track, BMX): These positions will be for a one-year term and nominees will not stand for election but will be nominated by the Respective National Commission and ratified at the AGM.


3. One person to undertake the Role of Road Officer. This person will be selected from the Provincial Nominees and will have indicated his/her interest in filling this role on the nomination form, If there is more than one nominee interested in the position the role will be decided by election at the AGM.


4. If there is any shortfall in the number of Provincial Nominees, the Commission may co-opt, additional officers to fill the maximum quota of eleven. Any such co-opted Officer will require the approval of the majority of the Commission, 


The above Nominees will make up the National Youth Commission and unless the parson holds a named post as listed below the term of office will be for one year.


Specific Roles : The Commission will require a Chairperson, Secretary, Treasurer and a Safeguarding Officer, These will be two-year positions and those filling these roles should have sufficient time to carry out the work involved


The Roles of Chair, Secretary and Treasurer will be filled from the above nominated officers who will have indicated on their nomination form that they would be interested in fulfilling such a role. If there is more than one person interested in a specific role, then the position will be filled by election at the AGM. 


The Role of Safeguarding Officer will be filled from the above nominated officers who will have indicated on their nomination form that they would be interested in fulfilling such a role. If there is more than one person interested in a specific role then the position will be filled by election at the AGM, The person appointed needs to do the necessary training courses and will work closely with the National Safeguarding Officer who will have overall charge of Safeguarding for the Commission.


All officers selected to be made aware through the Nomination form that they must agree to

Complete both Garda and AccessNI Vetting Checks

To update the above if their last application was more than three years ago

To Abide by the Cycling Ireland Code of Conduct 

To be familiar with Cycling Ireland’s Safeguarding Policy

To attend relevant Safeguarding Training as requested by the National Safeguarding Officer
