Cycling Ireland renews partnership with See.Sense
Cycling Ireland is pleased to announce an extension of it’s partnership with See.Sense.
Having first come on board in 2019, See.Sense remains Cycling Ireland’s official Bicycle Light and Rider Insights Supplier.
See.Sense’s innovative lights are daylight visible and reactive, meaning they flash brighter and faster during moments of risk, such as junctions and roundabouts, to keep you safe on the road.
Along with offering 30% off for Cycling Ireland members, the innovative technology used by See.Sense allows cyclists voices to be heard. When cycling with a connected See.Sense bike light, riders can use the free See.Sense app to report incidents and hazards they encounter on their rides, as well as access connected features like crash and theft alerts and personal stats. The app provides a platform for riders to make reports about any issues encountered on their ride such as a close pass, potholes, obstruction, or other factors that may impact safety.
Cycling Ireland members will gain access to a data dashboard on the Cycling Ireland website that will show the reported incidents. This will give Cycling Ireland access to never-before-seen insights on how and where all types of people ride. Aggregated and depersonalised data insights will also be accessible to other partners such as local councils to help improve conditions for cycling.
The data sharing is private, and riders can choose whether or not to opt in. Even if you don’t own See.Sense lights, you can use the See.Sense app to report any issues and record your rides.
The continuation of this partnership once again highlights Cycling Ireland’s renewed commitment to contributing to the improvement of safety for our members and all cyclists on our roads.
Speaking about the importance of this partnership, Cycling Ireland CEO James Quilligan said: “Strengthening our efforts around road safety and advocacy was one of the pillars outlined in our recent Strategic Plan. The extension of this partnership is another step in our commitment to road safety.”
Co-founder and CSO of See.Sense Irene McAleese commented: “We’re proud to continue our partnership with Cycling Ireland in support of their inspiring vision to develop an island enriched by cycling. By combining our innovative technology with their deep commitment to the cycling community, we aim to enhance safety, participation, and the overall experience for riders across the country.”
