Cycling Ireland Opens Expressions of Interest for EYOF Team Ireland Nomination

Cycling Ireland is pleased to announce that the final stage of the nomination process to the Olympic Federation of Ireland (OFI) for the 2025 European Youth Olympic Festival (EYOF) team opens today, Monday 19 May 2025.

The EOI process will close on 5pm Monday, 2 June 2025.

This marks the final step in the team nomination process for one of Europe’s most prestigious multi-sport youth events. The EYOF provides a unique opportunity for young athletes to compete at an elite level and gain invaluable international experience.

Michael Black, High Performance Pathway Manager at Cycling Ireland, expressed enthusiasm about the process:

“The performances from our youth riders over the last couple of months have been really positive. It’s a testament to the depth of talent we’re seeing across the country. We’re really looking forward to the coming weeks as we work through the nomination process and identify the team that will proudly represent Ireland at the EYOF.”

Please note that this final stage of nomination to the OFI is only open to those riders that are confirmed on the OFI longlist having completed the initial expression of interest earlier this year, and have met all of the OFI eligibility requirements as per section 8 of the OFI nomination and selection policy published here: EYOF-2025-Team-Ireland-Nomination-Policies-Updated.pdf

Candidate athletes and parents are politely reminded as per this policy if they have failed to meet eligibility requirements of the OFI by the time expressions of interest close, we are unable to nominate them for selection. You can find the form here: Expression of Interest - 2025 European Youth Olympic Festival

Expressions of interest close on Mon 2nd June at 5pm, the information gathering by the nomination panel takes place on the 3rd of June, and the nomination meeting itself will take place on 4th June.
