Cycling Ireland 2022-23 Athlete Development Programme

Cycling Ireland invites riders born in 2005, 2006 and 2007 which includes 2nd year u16s to apply to be part of the 2023 Junior Athlete Development Programme. Now in its fourth year, the programme is an evidence-based framework delivered by Cycling Ireland’s High Performance coaches and performance experts from multiple disciplines.

The benefits from the programme include individual feedback and input on training programmes, physiological testing, educational workshops, consultations with experts in life skills, sports nutrition and sports psychology, in addition to training camps.

Applications are welcome from male and female cyclists across disciplines. While considerable resources of the programme will consist of concentrated work with a small core group of athletes, other educational inputs will be available to all applicants. Meaning there is something in this for everyone.

Please note that the ADP is in no way related to Irish national team selections which have their own criteria, so being selected, or not being selected for the programme will have no bearing or influence on selection for Irish teams.

An information Zoom meeting will be held on Monday, 19th September at 8pm. The meeting will include inputs from 2022 programme members and elite Irish riders, Matthew Teggart plus Thomas Fallon, Neill Delahaye and Martin O’Loughlin from Cycling Ireland. The meeting will conclude with a question and answer session. All riders, parents and coaches/interested parties are most welcome to attend using this link: https://us02web.zoom.us/meeting/register/tZMuf-CurTkjHtPS6BDFaIE0mjZdj2skY90G
