Cycling Connacht Beo / Cycling Connacht to Host Facebook Live


The Cycling Connacht Committee is partnering with Joanne Murphy of Tri Talking Sport to host a Facebook Live this Friday February 12th at 8pm. The live broadcast will introduce the new Cycling Connacht Committee for the coming year and highlight the many aspects of cycling in Connacht as well as explore some of the committee’s goals for 2021 and beyond.

With the increase in the take up of cycling in recent months the new Cycling Connacht Committee have ambitious plans to encourage and educate cyclists within the region to maximise their enjoyment and experience of the sport of cycling.

There are 45 clubs in the province and multiple types of cycling opportunities available from; leisure cycling and road racing to cyclocross, mountain biking and gravel biking and much more for young and old, there is a whole world to be explored on two wheels.

Cycling Connacht is chaired by the TG4 presenter Padraic Quinn who has vast experience in the sport and was a former international cyclist plying his trade in France for many years. Speaking about their plans for Friday night he said ‘Whilst we may be restricted to enjoying the fun and freedom of cycling within our 5k travel restrictions at the moment, it won’t be long until we can embrace outdoor adventure once again. We are looking forward to hosting this Facebook Live event, introducing our new committee, whilst highlighting the vast array of cycling opportunities in the province. With a live Q & A taking place viewers will be able to submit their questions live to the panel during the event.
