2022 Cyclocross National Championships

The 2022 Cycling Ireland National Championships, hosted by Square Wheels CC and sponsored by ABC Council, will take place in the City of Armagh on the 8th and 9th January. The championships are located in the city centre, set in 300 acres of the Palace Demesne. It promises to be an exceptional weekend of action packed Cyclocross, in a stunning location for both competitors and spectators.

Course Map


The 300 acre of Palace Demesne, in the centre of Armagh City, was the residence of the Archbishops of the Church of Ireland from 1770 until 1975, when ABC Council took up residence.


Two courses (youth & main) have been developed in the grounds by the host club, Square Wheels CC over the past 5 years, with a focus on both riders and spectators.


spectacular venue, renowned for its steep gradients, technical wooded areas and deep, deep mud – true championship courses – they will test every aspect of the cyclocross rider.


Spectators will find it easy to catch all the thrills and spills from several key locations, which are also wheelchair accessible

Known world-wide as the home of St Patrick, Armagh is no stranger to large cycling events, having hosted Stage 3 of the Giro d’Italia in 2014. The city’s stunning Georgian architecture and world class attractions make it the perfect location to mix explosive cyclocross action with a weekend get-away.
