Homestay - Cycling Ireland Members Hub
Cycling Ireland is excited to announce their new private Homestay.com hub offering great value homestay accommodation within the cycling community. All hosts are members of Cycling Ireland.
What is Homestay?
Homestay is an accommodation marketplace dedicated to the homestay travel experience, where the host is present for every stay. With more than 50,000 hosts offering places to stay across some 150 countries, Homestay enables travellers to stay in the home of a local resident while they are there. Focused as much on people as it is on places, Homestay puts hosts at the heart of amazing travel experiences. The company was founded by Tom Kennedy, co-founder of HostelWorld.com, and Debbie Flynn, a veteran of the education travel industry. Homestay is funded by Delta Partners Ltd.
Signing up as a Host is easy and free of charge.
- By opening up your home you can make some extra income and get to know other members of Cycling Ireland in the process.
- You create your own profile, adding photos of your home and spare room.
- As a Host, you decide which guests you accept and when.
- Homestay also offers a video chat option where you can chat to prospective guests online before accepting a booking.

There is also an additional option for Cycling Ireland members interested to list their homes on the public Homestay.com site where you can welcome guests outside of the Cycling Ireland community.
How it works for guests
Before you book a homestay you can contact the host through our messaging system to check if they are available for your specific dates. Once they confirm they are available, you pay a 15% deposit of the total amount when you book online and the balance directly to your host later. Once you have completed your booking, we will immediately send you a confirmation email with your host’s address and contact information. You must be 18 years or older to book on Homestay.com, or if under 18 years old, you must be accompanied by an adult for the duration of your booking.

How it works for hosts
It’s free to list on Homestay.com. You must be living in your home during the guest’s stay, and be available to spend a little time with them, to make it a truly authentic and unique travel experience for them with a local. Homestay.com is intended for guests over the age of 18, unless accompanied by an adult for the duration of their booking.
