R3 Blair International Red Hand Trophy


The Blair International Red Hand Trophy takes the Cycling Ireland National Road Series to Ballymena, County Antrim on Saturday, June 1 hosted by Ballymena Road Club.


First run in 1968, the Red Hand Trophy will start and finish just outside the town of Ballymena, the Men's National Road Series field rolling out at 11am, and the Women's National Road Series field following five minutes later.


Both will race almost 104km in a long hilly loop up to the north of Antrim and around the picturesque, windy coast. Race headquarters will be Ballymena Road Club's Rex Bonnar House on Railway Street in Ballymena, sign-on opening at from 9am.


The winner of the Men's National Road Series race will lift the 123-year-old Red Hand Trophy, given to Ballymena back in 1968 already displaying an illustrious history.
