Unveiling the Ireland Junior Development Team for the Dornan Rás Mumhan


Cycling Ireland is thrilled to announce the selection of the Ireland Junior Development Team for the highly anticipated Dornan Rás Mumhan, taking place from Friday, March 29th to Monday, April 1st. 


This prestigious event, a highlight on the cycling calendar, promises to be a spectacle on the roads of Cork and Kerry, making it one of the biggest sporting events on the island of Ireland for the Easter weekend. 


Martin O'Loughlin will lead the team as Sports Director and he is confident in the ability of this team to be challenging the country's top elite riders.


Speaking about the team selection, O'Loughlin said:

"Selecting this year's team was no easy feat, given the remarkable depth of talent within our junior ranks. The pool of talented riders showcased their prowess and dedication, making the selection process extremely challenging. However, after careful consideration, we are proud to unveil a line-up that represents the best of Irish junior cycling"


The team is as follows in alphabetical order:

Josh Callaly – Lucan Cycling Road Club

Sam Coleman – AS Villemur U19

Seth Dunwoody – Cannibal Victorious U19 Development Team

Joseph Mullen – Zappi Racing Team

Philip O'Connor – Dungarvan Cycling Club

Conor Prendergast – Van Mossel Heist Cycling Team


Michael Black, Cycling Ireland National Development Coach also highlighted the exceptional junior talent showcased on not just the national roads but also on the international scene.

We believe in nurturing young talent and providing them with opportunities to flourish on the national and international stage. This year's selection reflects this ethos, with a mix of first and second-year juniors who have demonstrated exceptional potential and commitment to the sport"

The Dornan Rás Mumhan has a storied history of showcasing the finest talents in cycling, and the 2024 edition promises to be no exception. 


With its challenging routes through the scenic landscapes of Cork and Kerry, the race offers a platform for young riders to test themselves against top competition and gain invaluable experience.
