Second Stage of Strategy Consultation Process

27/08/2014

CYCLING IRELAND STRATEGY MOVES TO CONSULTATION STAGE AND WE WANT YOUR INPUT

Following the overwhelming participation in the online survey in the first step of developing the Cycling Ireland strategy, we would like to invite you to participate in the next step, which is the Consultation Process in the form of Town Hall Consultation Meetings held regionally. The online survey was Stage one of the Consultation Process, so these Consultation Meetings, or open forums, are the second stage. Here you will discuss the key findings from the online survey with W2 Consulting, in order to help form how the Cycling Ireland Strategy will look.

Cycling Ireland would like to thanks everyone who participated in the online survey. We had 2,500 responses in a short period of time, which provided us with valuable information that will help form a strategy that reflects the wants and needs of our members. The Town Hall Consultation Meetings will be a confidential discussion of these findings, with no Cycling Ireland Management or Board Members present, and there will be one held in each Province. Anyone can participate, regardless of whether or not they completed the online survey.

The Survey threw up some interesting findings, varying from a desire for a stronger presence of Cycling Ireland in the cycling lobbying space, along with safety being the biggest concern for riders, to a desire for Cycling Ireland to have stronger links with schools. You can check out the key findings in the graph below. The variety of findings will no doubt lead to some interesting and ground breaking discussions, so we hope that you will express your intent to attend by completing the following form:
